Cleveland Police Cadets

Our programme run by a team of volunteers, supported by Safe in Tees Valley staff provides 120 young people aged 13 – 17 opportunities to take part in key community activities and force wide competitions.

Positive Activities for Young People and Serious Youth Violence Detached Outreach

We deliver a street based violence reduction programme alongside our Positive Activities for Young People programme. We work in partnership with other agencies through the local Joint Action Groups.

Positive activities for children and young people

Our positive activities programme in partnership with Clarion Housing,  benefitted 91 children during 2019. The youth club is available every Tuesday to young people aged 8 -12 years in the Saltergill area, Middlesbrough.


This programme brings about positive change in young people’s lives and the lives by getting involved in making music. The programme has been initiated by the National Charity Youth Music and forms part of the Alliance for a Musically Inclusive England (AMIE).

UPS Road Code

This programme educates young drivers and passengers on the dangers of being distracted whilst driving. We deliver driver awareness safety training sessions, using a driving simulator we will provide a virtual demonstration on the impact of talking or using a phone behind the wheel.

National Citizen Service

Safe in Tees Valley delivered the National Citizen Service programme, funded by the NCS Trust from 2010 until 2019. Our staff are fully trained in delivering social action projects. ‘Social action is about people coming together to help improve their lives and solve problems that are important in their communities. It can broadly be defined. as practical action in the service of others. Our Police Cadets have been involved in a number of social action projects including arranging dementia friendly cinema trips.
